East Gwent Football Round Up

SUDBROOK County Cricket Club went through to the next round of the Benevolent Cup after beating Caldicot Town 6-3 at home.

Robert Thrn helped himself to four glorious strikes, while Mark Cochrane and John Mullins added the rest in a bruising local derby. Ray Jeremiah scored twice in reply for Caldicot Town.

Division One

Only two games were played in Division One. Tintern Abbey increased their lead at the top thanks to a 4-1 away win at Asda. Ian Tonks scored Asda's only goal. Monmouth Town A crushed Cross Hop 11-0.

Division Two

In Division Two Thornwell Burnt Barn's recent good run came to an end as Underwood B defeated them 3-1. Thornwell's only goal came from marksman Kenny Vidler, while the trusty boot of Bowen Jones eased Underwood home.

Chepstow Athletic cruised past Monmouth Town B winning 3-1 at home, Gareth JOnes, Paul Fletcher and Andrew O'Hara getting the goals. Finally Steve Thompson and Paul Duffield were on the score sheet for Undy Atheltic B as they beat Bulwark at home 2-1.
