Undy B won a very important toss and decided to play with a hurricane force wind at their backs.
It was soon evident that they had made the right choice as the first time the Undy goalkeeper had the ball in his hands, he kicked the ball the full length of the field, the ball bouncing over the head of the Monmouth goalkeeper into the net.
Due to the winds the whole of the first half was played in the Monmouth half, with Undy's young striker George Jones having a field day scoring four goals.
Monmouth's goalkeeper, Lee Williams, made some excellent saves to keep the half-time score down to 5-0.
The Undy half-time talk was dominated by the fact that as they had scored five goals with the wind, it was quite feasible that Monmouth could do the same.
The majority of the second half was spent in the Undy half, with Monmouth scoring two quick goals through Mike Beeks and Adam Cleaves.
It was backs to the wall for the Undy defence with plenty of last ditch defending, in particular Ben Stevens, Steve Price, Steve Thompson and Simon Curtis playing exceptionally well.
Undy's goalkeeper also made some telling saves to keep the Monmouth strikers at bay. The final whistle was welcomed by both sides as they had never been so cold.
