Watkins Shield: It was quarter final day in the Watkins Shield and all four away teams won.

Portskewett A beat Tippling Philosopher 3-1 after extra time - Gareth James scoring a fine hat trick for Portskewett andAndy Hunt netting a penalty for the Tippling.

In another entertaining game, Underwood A defeated Sudbrook Cricket Club A 5-4. Credit must go to Sudbrook, who wouldn't lay down and kept coming back, only for Underwood to score a winner with minutes remaining.

Sudbrook's goals came from Robert Thorn and Rory Aldritt - a brace each - while Underwood netted through James McManus (2), Bowen Jones, Dean Powell and Kurt Thompson.

Caldicot Town's new bus roared into Monmouth and roared back out with a 4-1 victory and a place in the semi finals. Town's goals came from a Mark Williams hat trick and Richard Withey.

Tintern Abbey completed the away team victories by defeating Undy Athletic A 3-1, Undy's only goal coming from Greg Parsons.

Division One

In Division One, Asda broke their duck at home, defeating Cross Hop 4-1. Andy Vaughan (2) and Steve Fenton and Robert Manango were the jubliant scorers.

Division Two

In Division Two, Chepstow Athletic stayed top thanks to a 4-1 derby win against Mathern Wanderers. Ricardo Chozas, Scott Cook, Mark Palmer and Carl Bailey got Athletic's goals.

Thornwell Burnt Barn grabbed a crucial 2-1 home win against out-of-form Caldicot Castle A, with Tosh Williams and Darren Gulliver the Barn scorers. The win keeps the Thornwell team second in the division, with a game in had over the leaders.

Underwood B climbed to third, thanks to a 6-5 home win against Portskewett B. Keiron Steven bagged an incredible four goals for Underwood while Kyle Gettings got the other two.

Finally, Sudbrook Cricket Club B returned to winning ways, but only just, having to rely on veterans Carl Arthur (3) and Terry Watkins for the goals in a tense 4-3 win away at Bulwark. Adrian James got two and Ian Smzaglik a single goal for Bulwark.
