Swimmers at Chepstow and District Swimming Club were treated to a display of swimming excellence when double Olympic breastroke medallist Nick Gillingham, took a three-hour training session at Chepstow Leisure Centre.
Nick spent two hours in the pool with the swimmers, teaching them stroke and diving technique, followed by an hour of slides, motivational theory and a question and answer session.
Nick Gillingham MBE has been ranked number 1 in the world for 200m breastroke, setting World, European, Commonwealth and British records and winning the silver medal in Seoul in 1988 and the bronze medal in Barcelona in 1992.
Club Chairman Andrew Bowyer said that he thought it was a marvellous opportunity for the young swimmers to meet and learn from a true ambassador of performance swimming.
