Town optimistic despite defeat

Monmouth Town 2 Tranch 3

MONMOUTH Town assistant manager Andrew Lewis says his side will go into this weekend's game against Newport Civil Service with high hopes despite it coming off the back of a gutting defeat against Tranch on Saturday.

Lewis reckons there were enough positives in the game to keep morale high in the Monmouth camp and that with a full squad to select from Town can look to Saturday's game with confidence aplenty.

"In the last 20 minutes against Tranch we were all over them. We had chance after chance, but just couldn't get the equaliser. That's why we're still confident in our abilities. We know we're capable of creating chances and if we take them on Saturday we can get a result," he said.

The game kicks off at the Monmouth Sport Ground at 3pm.
