Skennie on revenge mission

SKENFRITH are on a revenge mission this weekend - determined to make up for one of their most embarrassing results of the season.

They welcome Lentwardine on Saturday and the players are determined to wipe out memories of their 4-3 defeat earlier in the season.

Right back Nick Oxford admitted: "It was one of the worst defeats of the season because we were 3-1 and cruising but we lost concentration and ended up losing.

"The lads are really up for a revenge mission and we have used the defeat as a motivation factor."

Skenfrith, who have struggled to find the net consistently this season, hope to welcome back Darren Bontej from injury for Saturday.

"He's back in training and it's important he is back to fitness. We have struggled all season in front of goal so Darren's return would be a big boost," added Oxford.

Skenfrith are hoping to improve on their lowly league position against the side directly above them but they also have a Ross Cup final to look forward to in three weeks time.

"The final is obviously a big match for us but we need to stay focused on the league and improve our position. We want to finish in the top half."
