Gwent Central League round-up

In the P&P Open Cup Round Two, Llanarth beat Tranch Utd 3-2.

Llanarth led 1-0 at half time after just four minutes play, Llanarth's Andrew Childs went on a run down the right, he sent in a lovely cross into the six yard area where Colin Morgan was on hand to slide the ball home into the Tranch goal net.

In the 53rd minute Steve Morgan gave Llanarth a 2-0 lead from a solo effort when he collected the ball in his own half and ran through the Tranch defence and finished the move with a scorcher from 25 yards.

In the 65th minute Llanarth went 3-0 up, Michael Morgan sent a Llanarth corner, a bouncing ball went through the Tranch defence, Steve Morgan went down onto his knees and scored with a header.

Tranch decided to push all the players forwards and the move paid off in the 75th minute when Shaun Williams pulled a goal back for Tranch.

Tranch pressed forward again with all their players up into the Llanarth goal area and Colin Jones scored from a bouncy ball played into the Llanarth goal area and Jones side-footed the ball into the Llanarth net.

Tranch kept up the same tactics and camped in the Llanarth penalty area pressing hard for the equaliser, but Llanarth hung on to win 3-2. Good game.
