Undy Athletic B became the first Divison Two side to lift the Gill Cup after beating Tintern Abbey 2-1 on Saturday.
Tintern Abbey could not get to grips with the Division Two outfit who had already knocked out three Division One teams en-route to the final.
Tintern started the more confident and took the lead from the penalty spot with a Wayne Duffield strike after 26 minutes.
Within two minutes a Tintern player handled the ball in their own box, the referee Paul Scott had no option than to award the penalty.
Richard Smith the Undy keeper and penalty taker converted the spot kick with style passed Matty McDaid.
The second half was a scrappy affair with Undy defending for most of it. There were few goal bound chances from either team until the 83rd minute when free kick expert Steve Price stepped forward for Undy and sent a dazzling 25 yard free kick over the Tintern wall and into the bottom corner of the net to send the travelling Undy fans into a frenzy.
The final minutes were nail biting moments but the experienced Undy outfit held on to become the first Division Two side in over fifteen years to win one of the two major cup competitions.
Richard Smith, one of the goal heroes dedicated his goal to his son who was recovering in hospital from an operation.
