East Gwent League round-up

Division One, Mid-week: Caldicot Town and Sudbrook C/C A battled it out for third spot in the league.

Caldicot eventually defeated their close rivals 3-2, Dean Windsor, Ray Jeremiah and Gareth Huntley the Town's scorers.

Saturday saw Caldicot Town strengthen their league position when Chris Hourihane's boys defeated potential champions elect Tintern Abbey 2-0; Tyrone Tucker struck gold in the 78th and 85th minutes to secure victory.

Portskewett A completed their home fixture schedule with a 9-0 win against Monmouth Town A; Dave Watkins (3), Gareth James (2), Barry Thompson, Darren Harris, Simon Hathaway and an own goal for Portskewett.

Division Two, Mid-week: Caldicot Castle A continued their superb end of season form with a 9-1 away win at Undy Athletic B.

Saturday saw Bulwark perform their best display of their season as they nicked a point in a 1-1 draw at table toppers Underwood B. Lee Ryder scored for Underwood whilst hero of the moment Adrian Jones scored Bulwark's reply.

Chepstow Athletic now look favourites for the title after an important 2-0 away win at Sudbrook C/C B, Ricardo Chozas the clubs leading scorer secured a neat brace.

Thornwell Burnt Barn now have to rely on other results if they want top spot, they lost at home 4-2 to Undy Athletic B Chris Rees and Darren Gilliver scored for Thornwell whilst Undy's goals came from Joe Rees (2), Andrew Morelli and a Richard Smith penalty.

Monmouth Town B completed their season with a 5-2 home win against Portskewett B; Matthew King, Lee Robson and Lee Prosser among the Monmouth scorers.
