Allpay 1 Skenfrith United 0
UNITED player Nick Oxford has admitted the team is looking forward to the end of the season and building in the summer a squad capable of pushing for promotion.
After the highs of the recent Ross Cup final win United have struggled to find their focus in the league with only a handful of games left before the end of the campaign.
And with nothing left to play for aside from a possible finish inside the Division Two top four Oxford said players were finding hard to find the motivation.
"There's no doubt enthusiasm has died down," he said. "Everyone has eased off a bit. If we were going for something it would be different but really we're just aiming for fourth or fifth in the table."
United still looked good for a point against high flying Allpay though and nearly did get a share of the spoils when keeper and man of the match Ian Jenkins latched onto a corner only to his header sail just over the bar.
United were missing several key players including David Ellias, Darren Botej and Anthony Whigmore, but Oxford said they still competed very well.
United's next game is on May 15 away at Kingston.
