Pain in Spain as Park is just squeezed out

MONMOUTH'S David Park came agonisingly close to landing the Spanish Open in Fuerteventura on Sunday.

The Monmouth golfer, who won £81,800, set a blistering pace with opening rounds of 64 and 65 and held the overnight lead, but he slumped to a disappointing two-over par 72, one shot behind Frenchman Christian Cevaer, who finished on nine under par to claim his first European Tour victory.
