Site is no place for badger cubs

THESE ten-week-old badger cubs were rescued from a building site in Shirenewton, after their mother abandoned them.

Site workers spotted the cubs sheltering under a cattle trough as the area was being cleared.

Named Jasper and Malachite, they are now being looked after by Gwent Badger Group chairman Steve Clark, until they are old enough to be released back into the wild, probably in September.
