New Tesco searches for local hero

A new Tesco Express store is set to open in Bulwark, Chepstow on Monday June 14 and supermarket bosses want a real local hero to open it.

The Tesco Express store is replacing the One Stop in the Old Farm Shopping Centre, which is currently closed for the conversion work to be carried out.

The Chepstow Free Press has teamed up with Tesco Express to 'Search for a Local Hero' who selflessly does things for others, dedicates their time to a worthy cause or has overcome difficult circumstances to come out on top.

So if you think you know anyone worthy enough to be nominated as a Local Hero, Tesco and the Free Press want to hear from you.

Whoever is selected will receive £500 to give to a charity of their choice and will perform the ribbon cutting ceremony at the opening of the new Tesco Express on Monday June 14.

The new Tesco Express will offer customers over 3,000 product lines with extensive fresh and chilled ranges including fruit and vegetables and ready meals along with frozen food, tinned products, cereals and pasta sauces.

The store will also offer customers other essentials including toiletries, stationary, newspapers and magazines, beers, wines and spirits and fresh flowers plus a wide range of 'food to go' such as sandwiches, crisps, drinks and snacks. Shoppers will also have access to a National Lottery terminal.

The doors of the Tesco Express will open for the first time at 8am on Monday 14th June with the official opening ceremony taking place at 10.30am. The store will then open from 7am to 10pm seven days a week.

If you would like to nominate a 'Local Hero' send details of why you have chosen your nominee, along with your name, address and a daytime telephone number AND that of the person you are nominating to:
