Police scotch Maxine Carr rumours

RUMOURS that Maxine Carr is living in the women's refuge in the Abergavenny area have been firmly scotched by local Police.

Carr was recently released from prison after serving half of her 42-month sentence for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice by providing Soham murderer Ian Huntley with a false alibi.

Inspector Allyn (ok)Richards of Abergavenny Police said he was aware of the rumours, but did not know how they started.

He added: "I would like to put on record the fact that there is no truth whatsover in these rumours and the sooner they are scotched the better for those running the women's refuge."
