Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of their housemate, after his body was found 60ft down a quarry near Chepstow.
John Storm, 38, and John Wardle, 46, are accused of pushing Francis Weldon, in his 40s, off the top of the quarry in Woodcroft, near Sedbury on May 26.
The defendants both from Cwmbran, Gwent did not apply for bail. They were remanded in custody to appear at Bristol Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on Friday, June 4.
Gloucester Magistrates' Court was recently told that a post-mortem examination on Mr Weldon, who also lived at the same address, had revealed multiple injuries consistent with falling down the quarry - but additional facial injuries indicated he had also been hit in the face.
