At the June meeting of Gavenny Ladies Guild the chairman welcomed those present and after normal business the Ascot Hat Competition took place.
Members paraded a variety of hats, some formal and others topical, and the judges Bernard Thatcher and Bill the photographer had a very difficult time selecting the winner.
Eventually two joint winners were announced and these were Joan Rutter with her "6/4 the Field" hat and Grace Wilson with her hat of "Yellow and White Daisies".
The winners were presented with chocolates and raffle prizes were won by Doris Jones, Rachael Bull and Zena Jarrett.
The tea hostesses were Dorothy Clissold, Nancy Morris & Megan Carey, and the Chairman thanked them all together with Pat Haynes, Gill Johnson and Ann Jones who helped organise the Strawberry tea.
The Guild's annual outing takes place on Thursday, July 1, with a visit to Worcester and an optional boat trip!
There are still a few places left so anyone interested in coming along should ring Christine Prosser on 01873 850534.
