THE public inquiry about the change of use of the Red Hart Inn at Llanfapley has been scheduled for two days in September.
Several members of the protest group formed when the pub closed its doors in October 2002, are expected to give evidence to the inquiry, which will be held at County Hall, Croesyceiliog on September 7 and 8.
The owners of the Red Hart, James and Jean Sharp, have appealed to the National Assembly against the refusal of Monmouthshire County Council to allow the pub to be changed into a private house.
They live there with three generations of their family.
When the pub first closed the Red Hart Supporters Group was formed, and they claim to have a membership of several hundred.
They have held several fund-raising and social events since their formation and have pledged to fight any move to change the use of the Red Hart, saying it is the focal point of the community.
