Chepstow took the field after winning the toss in the local derby against Sudbrook 2nds in an away game for Chepstow.

On a fast, lively strip, Chepstow soon gain an early ascendancy, with Rhodri Fawsitt and Leon Thomas ripping out 3 early wickets, leaving Sudbrook under pressure on 47 for 3 off just 15 overs.

Edward Willis and Richard Lund steady the ship for Sudbrook and begin to turn the tables on the bordermen with a partnership of 139 before Willis offers a catch to Guy Freeman off the bowling of Lyndon Starr who finished with 1 for 47 off his 10 overs. Williams figures were 6 overs, 1 maiden and just 16 runs for his 1 wicket.

The rest of Chepstow's bowlers suffered at the hands of Lund and Willis, Sudbrook ending their innings on 229 for 5 wickets, Lund still there unbeaten on 104 not out.

After tea Chepstow start with great promise when openers Guy freeman and Jeremy Stead begin the run chase, then, with the score on 34 Freeman falls to a lifting ball outside the off stump, caught behind for just 21.

Stead stays there until the 31st over scoring 58 off 93 balls, before being caught with the score now on 114.

By now Chepstow are 4 wickets down and beginning to feel the pressure, Sudbrook, with their tails in the air begin to winkle out the bordermen, the vastly experienced Gordon Voke taking 2 wickets in his last over, finishing with 4 maidens, 3 wickets for 18 off 10 overs.

Rhodri Fawsitt for Chepstow fought hard with some aggressive batting for his 26 runs, but Chepstow are all out for 161 runs, 68 short of their target
