Swan House

A Grade II-listed former coaching inn dating back to the 16th century is on the market with Newland Rennie Wilkins.

Offers in excess of £700,000 are being invited for the impressive Swan House in the small village of Blakeney, Forest of Dean, which comes with an attractive garden with about three acres of grounds.

Swan House is a fascinating old building whose interior strongly represents its Tudor origins with a wealth of exposed timbers, close studding, ancient doors and a particularly fine staircase to the upper floors.

It was extended both in the 17th and 18th centuries and the vendors have recently completed a programme of improvements to make best use of the available space.

The property, which includes five bedrooms, a music rooms and an annexe comprising an extra sitting room, bedroom and shower room, has a small orchard with a further two acres of paddocks at the rear.
