Trayhern could play for Dragons

PONTYPOOL head coach Steve Jones expects to lose his captain Cae Trayhern to the Newport Gwent Dragons.

Jones said Trayhern is good enough to be playing with Chris Anderson's side now and that he wouldn't stand in the player's way if an offer came in from the Celtic League side.

Just when that offer might be put on the table remains unclear, but Trayhern is said to be highly thought of by Dragons officials and at 25 is nearing his prime as a player.

"When you look at what there is in the back row now at the Dragons I would say he is good enough to be playing for them now. I wouldn't hold him back . "He is a player who always gives 150 percent and is one of our most vital assets. Since being made captain he has grown in stature and matured. He is good enough to be playing regional rugby," said Jones.

Trayhern has already trained with the Dragons at a number of development days and his fast-attacking game would suit the Newport-based club's style.
