Heavy rainstorms gave very wet and cold conditions for Saturday's matches.
Match of the day was in the A Jones & Co Usk Langdon Cup, Crickhowell at home to Tranch.
Two weeks ago Crickhowell recorded a 6-3 away win after being down at half-time, this time proved to be another nail-biter; with just five minutes to go, Tranch were leading 2-1 but went on to lose the match 3-2.
Martin Page and Andrew Hayes put Tranch 2-0 up, then a Craig Bennet header from a Craig Thomas free-kick put the scores at 2-1 to Tranch.
Owain Jones put Crickhowell on level terms in the 85th minute. Four minutes later Craig Thomas scored with a 30-yard thunderbolt of a shot to put Crickhowell through to the next round, where they will play Mardy away.
In league Division One second-placed Lower New Inn lost 4-1 away to Gilwern & Dist. Graham Jones put Gilwern ahead after just four minutes.
The Lower levelled the score in the 35th through Matt Osmond. Adam Carrington made it 2-1 to Gilwern. Carrington scored his second goal, and Gilwern's third and Chris Davies' goal gave Gilwern the points.
Gilwern move up from sixth place to fourth. Lower drop from second to third position.
A single goal by David Greenhalgh in the 20th minute gave Cwmffrwdoer maximum points in their away match over Goytre. Goytre are in 14th position and Cwmffrwdoer move to second from fifth.
Clydach Wasps won their local derby at Govilon 3-2, although Clydach nearly gave away the win. Clydach were leading 3-0 with just ten minutes to go, but Govilon pulled two goals back through Kevin Mogford and Jamie Wilkins and were unlucky not to get another goal and a point out of the match. Goalscorers for Clydach Wasps were Allan Elmore (2) and Craig Gwillym. Clydach Wasps move up from 12th position to tenth, Govilon hold ninth spot.
Llanarth collected maximum points from their 4-1 home win over Blaenavon Blues. All the goals were scored in the second half. Justin Harris opened Llanarth's goal scoring with a header in the 74th minute.
Four minutes later Toby Preece stuck the ball into the Blues net to put Llanarth 2-0 in front.
Ryan Keen pulled a goal back for the Blues in the 82nd minute. Peter Maddocks made it 3-1 in the 84th minute with a cross into the goal area by Toby Preece. One minute from time Peter Maddocks scored his second goal of the match, Llanarth's fourth, with a header. Man of the match for Llanarth was Nevill Harris, and for Blaenavon Blues was Lewis Warrilow. Llanarth hold eighth position and Blues are 11th.
Pontypool Town's 4-3 home win over visitors Mardy, was a thriller, who led 2-1 at half-time. With ten minutes to go the sides were level at 3-3 with Andy Pollard scoring twice for Pontypool Town and Gavin Hopkins once.
Mardy's goal scorers were James Copeland, Aaron Davies and Steve Smith. Pontypool Town's fourth goal winner was scored in the 80th minute by Paul Sutcliffe. Pontypool Town hold seventh position and Mardy fifth.
Usk Town lost 2-0 at home to Panteg with substitute Jon Parkinson scoring both goals. Usk Town had keeper Marc Cordell sent off and Panteg had David Colhoun sent off. Usk Town hold 11th position and Panteg hold 14th position.
Division Two leaders Pres-coed stay top following their 3-1 home win over Gilwern B. The sides were level 0-0 at half-time. Goal scorers for Prescoed were Grant Watkins (2) and Michael Smith. The Gilwern B goal was scored by Robby Warner.
Pandy recorded a 4-0 home win over high-flying Crick-howell B's youngsters. The game was marred when Ioan Lilley broke his ankle after just 20 minutes. Everyone wishes him a speedy recovery. Pandy led 2-0 at half-time through goals by Mark Hughes and Rob Beet.
In the second half Danny Wallace chipped in with two goals. Pandy hold sixth position and Crickhowell B are in fourth place.
Sebastopol beat local rivals New Inn 3-1, although New Inn had Sebastopol under the cosh for long periods of the game. Prolific goal-scorer Ian Mruk hit all Sebastopol goals with a hat-trick. Carl Brown scored New Inn's goal after ten minutes of play. At half-time the sides were level 1-1. Sebastopol stay in eighth position and New Inn drop from sixth to seventh.
Fairfield Utd got their second win of the season by beating visitors Llanarth B 4-2. Fairfield led at half-time 2-0. Goal scorers for Fairfield were Glenn Rees (2), Gavin Williams and Steve Smith. Goal scorers for Llanarth B were David Dwyer and Chris Powell.
Daley Whitcombe was the stand-in referee. Steve Smith was Fairfield's man of the match and David Dwyer was Llanarth B's. Fairfield hold 11th position and Llanarth B are 14th.
Mardy B took all of the points from their visit to PILCS by winning 3-1.
Scorers for Mardy B were Andrew Worton (2) and Chris Davies. PILCS goal was scored by Mark Wyatt. PILCS hold fifth position and Mardy B hold down ninth spot
In the A Jones & Co Usk Benevolent Cup Round One, Race beat Usk Town B 2-0 with goals by Paul Hayward and Chris Bartlett.
Race are away to Sebastopol in the quarter-finals.
