Athletics beaten by strong Croesy

Cwmbran Athletic 6 Croesyceiliog 37

Cwmbran Athletic played a very strong Croesyceiliog XV featuring a number of first teamers plus guest players from Tredegar and Brynmawr.

The Crows second side gave a good account of themselves despite losing 37-6. A number of youth players were used, notably Steve Cox, Nick Briant, Charles Coia, Jamie Edwards and Ben Sainsbury, to name a few.

The Crows did exceptionally well in the scrums, driving their senior opponents back at will. Croesy ran in five first half tries and Cwmbran's response was a brace of penalties by Dave Saunders.

The second half was a tight affair with both packs playing a well contested game. Despite Cwmbran having the ascendancy for most of the half the only score came from a Croesy breakaway try.
