Serious injury finishes match

A serious injury to an opposition player left Cwmbran Hockey Club's Gerrard League clash with Leominster unfinished.

With an ambulance attending the pitch and a Leominster player suffering from what appeared to be a broken ankle, the game was abandoned after 20 minutes. The game will have to be re-played before Christmas and leaves the two sides sitting comfortably mid-table in North division two.

Cwmbran's second and third teams might have wished their games were similarly abandoned. Cwmbran A slumped to a 3-0 defeat at UW Cardiff C, and the previously unbeaten third team lost 8-1 against a very strong Whitchurch
