Panteg win five goal thriller

Gwent County Division One Mardy 2 Panteg 3

PANTEG picked up a vital three points away at sixth-placed Mardy on Saturday showing good composure to hold onto a 3-2 half-time lead.

The promising result - Panteg's second win in two games - pushes the club to eighth in the table with 15 points from 12 games.

After an electric opening 30 minutes that saw Panteg storm into a confident 3-0 lead, Mardy hit back with two goals of their own to make it anyone's game at the break.

Some stern defending under a barrage of pressure, however, earned Panteg all three points in the end and leaves them in a confident mood as they head into this weekend's game at Garnlydan, kick off 2.15pm.
