New Inn up to seventh

Gwent County Div 3 New Inn 4-0 Trethomas Bluebirds

New Inn climbed to seventh in the league after this impressive performance at home to Trethomas.

New Inn were in control from the off and found themselves ahead after only ten minutes, Anthony Davies finishing well after a Nathan Blackwell effort was saved.

New Inn pushed for another before half-time and it wasn't long before Alun Pugh got his name on the scoresheet with another quality finish.

New Inn controlled the first half, playing some attractive football with the visitors failing to get a hold of the game.

Even though they failed to trouble Rob Arnold in the New Inn goal, Trethomas were still in the game at 2-0 when the second half kicked off.

New Inn pushed for the third, but they had to wait until the 75th minute when Mark Jackson cracked a crisp strike into the net.

With the game virtually over, it wasn't long before New Inn grabbed a fourth goal. Veteran Simon Duggan getting forward to nod home a Richie Dudman cross.

After this solid team performance, New Inn look forward to travelling to Abergavenny Thursdays in next week's 3rd Division clash.
