Cwmbran mum wins £42,000 on bingo

A CWMBRAN mother who has been a regular player at the same bingo hall for 15 years has just scooped £42,000 after hitting the jackpot.

Carol Chivers, aged 51, is thinking of giving up her day job after winning at the Mecca bingo club in Monmouth Walk, Cwmbran, last week.

Mrs Chivers, who is a part-time casual packer for a Cwmbran firm, said she intends to use some of her winnings to pay for a fitted kitchen as well settling her credit card bills.

Some will also go towards the cost of a holiday she is due to take in Lanzarote with her husband David and some friends.

Her two sons, Paul, 27, and Kris, 24, are both set to benefit from the bonanza and will each receive £1,000.
