Jake dreams of biking career

World motorcycle trials champion Doug Lampkin better watch out - there's a ten-year-old who's eyeing up his crown.

Jake Evans-Luter, of Varteg in Torfaen, rode his 80cc Beta bike to glory in the British trials, grabbing the title of champion in the under-12 age group.

The talented youngster travelled up and down the UK, winning seven out of the eight legs which made up this year's championship. And now he's dreaming of carving out a career on his motorbike.

"I was a bit nervous at the beginning of some of the legs but as I went on, I knew I was going to do it," said a delighted Jake.

Jake's been riding since he was six, and said his hero is the current British youth champion Michael Brown, who has dominated the sport since he was eight.

"I got to meet him after I won the last leg, which was great," he said. Jake travels to Birmingham in January to be presented with his trophy by the Auto Cycle Union.
