United away win

PONTYPOOL United made eight changes for their trip to Senghenydd and they came home with a 15-12 victory.

United started brightly and Chris James kicked an early penalty to put them 3-0 up. An injury to back row forward Jacob Nash forced an early substitute and Mark Harrington came on to play number eight.

Although the home side levelled the score with a penalty, an interception by Warren Edwards set United up for a penalty try just before the break, which Chris James converted. In the second half, Senghenydd started to apply pressure and reduced the arrears with two penalties.

With Mark Harrington sin-binned, the home side then kicked another penalty.

But 14-men United put in a fantastic effort in the final minutes and Chris James scored a try to snatch the win.

On Saturday, United travel to Llanishen.
