Car crash victim is named

The man killed in a car crash on the A4042 near Pontypool last Tuesday has been named as 20-year-old, Sean Tyrone Hale from Blaina.

Mr Tyler was killed when his Vauxhall Corsa swerved off the road before hitting a tree and bursting into flames.

His brothers and sisters joined Mr Hale's mum and dad to lay flowers at the scene of the accident.

Mr Hale's sister said that wanted to pay tribute to "a lovely boy" and said that they wanted to show how much they loved him and will miss him.

Gwent police said the car Mr Hale was travelling in "was of interest" to them. Responsibility for investigating the crash was later given to The Independent Police Complaints Commission. They continue to manage the investigation and will also be looking into whether Gwent police were involved in any way before the collision.

An IPCC spokeswoman said there was unlikely to be any more information released until the investigation had concluded.
