PUPILS from Cwmffrwdoer primary school have been closely following the progress of the Clarence Hotel project.
We've published their two reports into the development of the building. Now they've ensured a permanent link with the project by burying a time capsule somewhere (they're not telling where) in the new building.
Here's their latest report.
Wednesday, November 8, was an important day for both of us, we went to the Clarence Hotel and we buried a box, a time capsule.
The box contained a CD with all the photos that we've taken of our visits to the Clarence Hotel, since September. Let's hope that when the box is found there be equipment which will read the disk!
Amongst the other items was a Wales v New Zealand programme. We hope we beat the All Blacks by the time the capsule is found in a 100 years time.
Other objects included messages from the pupils of the school, leaflets about Pontypool, a Gameboy and an Argos catalogue. We accidentally left a roll of blue sticky tape inside the box belonging to our headteacher, so some time in the future people will wonder why it's in the box.
And finally, no time capsule is complete without a copy of the Free Press. We would like to thank Vince Burman (site manager) for his help in letting us leave the capsule where it is, which is a secret and we're not telling!
