Injury horror

A NIGHTMARE injury list forced Cwmbran RFC to pull out of their Minolta Welsh Cup clash at Carmarthen on Saturday.

Only 12 players were available to play and the club is fortunate it wasn't a league game, as they would have been penalised with a loss of points.

Captain and openside flanker Ryan Griffiths has sustained a bad knee injury which will sideline him for the rest of the season while front row trio John Hopkins, Ian Hayes and Mark Smithy will also be out for weeks, together with half backs Fred Evans and James Didcote.

Luckily, Cwmbran's next fixture isn't until January 8 when they travel to Senghenydd.
