Prince to visit Nook youth

ABERSYCHAN will be playing host to a royal visitor on Friday when HRH Prince Edward the Earl of Wessex meets youngsters at The Nook.

The highly successful youth access initiative is based at the former Abersychan police station, it provides a varied and creative curriculum for children aged 14-16.

The Nook opened in 2001 as part of the Abersychan Urban Regeneration scheme and was funded through Objective One.

Staff at The Nook are trained youth workers who consult with parents and teachers to provide a meaningful curriculum.

Mayor of Torfaen Councillor Yvonne Warren said: "A royal visit is always exciting and this is going to be a great day for everyone involved in the Nook."
