Eisteddfod hopes for young stars on stage

PRIMARY SCHOOL pupils are dancing up a storm as they head for the finals of the National Urdd Eisteddfod.

A dance troupe from Ysgol Brynnonen, Varteg, will take to the stage at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff at half term.

Also facing tough competition will be year seven's Gabriella Jones from the school, who has made it to the recital finals.

All competitors from Ysgol Brynnonen have worked hard together with dance tutor Thea Jones to come up with a fun and energetic routine.

And Gabriella has perfected her public speaking skills for her time centre stage.

Thea Jones said: "The children have given up all their dinner time to practice since Januray and it's a real honour for them to have come this far."
