Goytre ensured they would not be making an immediate return to the Gwent County League last week as two wins in four days guaranteed their Welsh League status for another year.
Wednesday's 2-0 win over Treowen was followed by a 2-1 victory over Pentwyn Dynamo on Saturday, moving Goytre away from the danger zone and up to 12th position in the Division Three table.
Goals from Graham Mason and Mike Vaines gave Goytre the points on Wednesday but celebrations were muted after the final whistle as it was revealed the win had not secured Welsh League status for the village side because nearly all of their relegation rivals had also gained three points.
But Goytre knew that one point from Saturday's fixture would be enough for survival.
As it turned out the Plough Road outfit went two better than that with Will Brat and Steve Collett scoring to defeat Pentwyn.
"We did need those three points on Wednesday and to be honest it was maybe one of the best performances of the season," said Goytre Chairman Paul Greenhalgh.
"We probably thought those three points would be enough but unfortunately for us nearly all the bottom sides won."
"We've preserved our position and can now go on next year. We have to plan for that now and make sure we don't make the same mistakes again"
Goytre complete their league programme against Risca today before travelling to Caerau Ely to meet Pontedawe in the semi-final of the Shamrock Welsh League Cup.
