Lexy just as sexy, say our local lads

OKAY, okay, we get the message.

It wasn't intentional, but we left out sexy Lexy Johnson from our growing list of Torfaen models who've signed up to appear on our charity calendar.

But Lexy needn't worry. Our oversight was pointed out by a determined bunch of fans who wrote in to let us know just what we were missing.

So thanks to Rob, Chris, Dan, Shane, assorted Lexy fans, Cwmbran footy boys and Ponty rugby boys for pointing out that, in their opinion, Lexy Johnson is one of the finest models, not just in Torfaen, but in the UK. Despite having appeared in many of the big men's magazines in the UK, 20-year-old Lexy Johnson, from Ty Canol, Cwmbran, is not relying on a long-term career in modelling.

In fact, she's signed up to study animal management at Usk College this Autumn, with a view to becoming a veterinary assistant.

Lexy started modelling after she won the Daily Star student of the month competition two years ago.

Since then, she's been in the Star at least ten times, including on the cover. She's also appeared in Nuts, Loaded, Front, Max Power and Grazia. She even made her acting debut on S4C - dressed as a chicken.

But that did at least lead on to a role in BBC's Holby City programme. She's also due to make her Los Angeles debut as her portfolio has been picked up by an agency there.

But Lexy, who gained 11 GCSEs at Fairwater High School, is already looking at a career after modelling.

What with having to compete against a vast number of model wannabees for each job, and having to steer a course clear of pornographic jobs, she's looking at a long-term career as a veterinary assistant.

"There isn't enough work around to make a full-time living in this career with the number of girls going for the jobs," she said.

"And you have to be careful what you accept. I get hundreds of emails every week offering all sorts of jobs, including porn. I wouldn't ever do that but I have been surprised by the amount of porn work going on in the UK.

"I look at the e-mails with my mother. We have a laugh and then delete them."
