Distinctive items are stolen in raid

BURGLARS stole items worth around £5,500 from a Blaenavon antique shop.

J Jones antiques on the Abergavenny road was burgled on June 26. Thieves stole a number of distinctive items and the shop owner, Jocelyn Jones, has requested people keep a look out for them and inform police if they see them.

They are;

A Pontypool grandfather clock. It is a mahogany long case clock with a distinctive painting of Trevethin church on the face which is signed by Wolfe Ansell.

A German army dagger with a rosewood handle in a sheath.

Gold and costume jewellery.

A wall clock decorated with a wooden carved eagle and brass face.

An American regulator wall clock.

Anyone with information about the stolen items can call police on 01495 764711.
