EIGHT police officers were sent to a club after a report that two sisters were brawling, a court was told.
Bethan Renee Coleman, 22, of Edlogan Way, Croesyceiliog, admitted at Newport magistrates court assaulting PC Robert Muir outside Cwmbran Workingmen's Club on September 12.
She was sentenced to a 12-month supervision order and a 40-hour community punishment order. She was ordered to pay £75 compensation to the injured officer.
The court was told Coleman and her sister were brawling. Prosecutor Mike Beaman said Coleman kicked PC Muir in the face and head as she was being restrained by him.
Magistrates were told that Coleman had a previous conviction for wounding in 2001 for which she was sentenced to ten months' youth custody.
Mark Hughes, mitigating, said Coleman suffered from a mental illness. She had drunk alcohol on the night of the assault. She wrote a letter of apology to PC Muir.
