United on rare form at Llanishen

Pontypool Utd travelled to Llanishen on Saturday and made four changes from the previous Saturday.

In the first run Utd conceded a try from a driving maul but they hit back with a try from Luke Bingham which was converted by outside half Darren Pearce.

From this point the tries came at regular intervals the next by No 8 Scott Bendon and a third by centre Gareth Jenkins both converted by Pearce for Utd to lead 21-3 at the break.

At the interval Utd made a change at centre when Gareth Jenkins came off with a groin strain and he was replaced by Warren Edwards. The home side hit back with a try in the first run of the second period.

Even playing this tight game Utd scored two further tries by scrum half Rhys Griffiths, one of which was converted by Darren Pearce.

Right at the death the home side scored a further try to make the final score Llanishen 15 v Pontypool Utd 33. Utd now have a run of three home games to push for the top of the league.
