Cardiff HSOB 13 Garndiffaith 27
GARN continued their challenge at the top of the league when they dispatched of Cardiff HSOB in a fine away win.
But if Garn had displayed a little more control and not overrun the possession they had for long periods of the game they could have scored considerably more than the four tries they mustered on Saturday afternoon.
The Garn started strongly and were 15 points ahead early on after excellent tries from full back Nip Jones and centre Stuart Davies. But a period of lapse play allowed their opponents from the capital back into the game for two tries of their own to reduce to deficit to 15-10 at half time.
The second half witnessed a Garn re-emergence but more chances went begging before second row Gareth Lear finally scored under the posts for the league leaders' third try of the day. This was quickly followed with a score from wing Ben Smith after good work by dynamic flanker Stephen Mayley.
Overall, a good all-round display from Garn which saw them stretch three points clear of St Peters, who had their game at Nantyglo called off, but the score could have been doubled.
