'Doer draw level in league

Llanarth 1 Cwmffrwdoer Sports 4

CWMFFRWDOER Sports travelled to Llanarth at the weekend strengthened by the return of keeper Karl Rudakov and James McClusky, both out since January, and returned with three points after two second half goals from Ross Peake.

The result draws the 'Doer level on points with Llanarth in the Gwent Central League First Division, having deserved the win on Saturday. The away side had started the brighter playing a crisp passing game and were 1-0 up inside 20 minutes.

McClusky linked up with Casey Mahoney to carve out an opportunity for Jamie Roch, who duly scored from eight yards out. And the lead was doubled ten minutes later when Ross Peaks sent the ball over the defence and Kyle Palfrey forced the ball home.

A deft chip over the visiting keeper offered Llanarth some hope, but the Doer midfield trio continued to torment their hosts by contesting every ball and creating openings up front.

And after the break, man-of-the-match Peake added his brace in a ten-minute spell to kill-off the tie and secure the points for the Doer. This week, on Saturday March 11, Cwmffrwdoer Sports travel to strugglers Mardy (kick off at 3pm).
