BOOKSHOP owners in Blaenavon have quashed rumours that the town's Spring Festival is cancelled by announcing the exciting programme.
Stephanie and Andrew Nummelin, of Browning Books, said they want to reassure the public the popular festival is going ahead and promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
"It takes place from Friday, March 31, to Sunday, April 2, and there is something for everyone," Stephanie said.
"There will be lots going on we have got art exhibitions, poetry and pints night, story telling and music. It going to be really good and this year, for the first time, everything is free."
Throughout the weekend there will be a variety of activities on offer at various venues in the town.
These include:
Lessons in watercolour landscape painting with author and artist David Bellamy. Formerly of Pantygasseg, Pontypool, David has written 11 books and presented his own series on HTV Wales.
'A Social History on Barrel Organs' - a talk by former East End organ grinder Nigel Winfield explaining the human movements behind mechanical street music that came to be loathed by much of the Victorian Establishment.

John Dawes in conversation with David Parry Jones - relive the golden era of Welsh rugby as John discusses the highs and lows of an illustrious career, including the controversial Lions tour of New Zealand in 1977.
