Dead woman found in flat

GWENT Police is investigating the death of a 40-year-old woman in Cwmbran.

The body of Gillian Susan Wheeler was found at a flat in Sirhowy Court, Thornhill, on Saturday, April 22.

Her body was found with what the police said initially were "minor injuries" and officers say they are treating the death as suspicious.

They are appealing for information from anyone who was in the vicinity of Sirhowy Court between 2.30am and 2.45am on Saturday to contact them on 01633 838111.

A 38-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday in connection with the death and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
