Wales tops repossession order rise
WALES has seen the biggest proportional rise in mortgage repossession orders in England and Wales according to figures released today by the County Courts.
Figures for the first three months of 2008 show a 26% rise in claims at the principality's courts, compared with the same period in 2007.
This compares with 9% in the South East, 11% in the South West and a reduction of -6% in London for the same period.
Haverfordwest saw the biggest proportional rise in repossession orders in the whole of England and Wales, at 248%.
For the whole of 2007, Mold County Court recorded the highest percentage increase in housing cases of all courts at 93% (England and Wales average was 5%).
The Mold court also saw a 225% increase in repossession orders this quarter.
