Beautiful Area

The couple have savoured the serenity of their setting. Yet at the same time they have appreciated the easy access to Monmouth, with its wide range of shops, supermarkets and restaurants, as well as its outstanding schools. We can reach the dual carriageway quickly when we want to go to Bristol, Cardiff or Birmingham, Albert points out. And this is a wonderful area for walking or canoeing, with lots of good places to visit in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. The couple, who hope to stay in the area, are only moving because they wish to downsize, he explains. We will miss this house, however, he admits. We will miss sitting on the terrace and looking at out those incredible views.

Fabulous Features

Before an architect drew up their plans, Albert and Barbara discussed exactly what they wanted from their new home. The main part of the house had to be at the rear so we could enjoy the views, Albert remembers. At the front, we wanted there to be plenty of space for parking up to seven cars. Inside, rooms were to be generous in size: We wanted a particularly spacious kitchen dining room, with space for a table that could seat up to twelve people, and a staircase built by an artisan craftsman. He adds: We were able to incorporate everything we wanted into this house which is why it has been such a great place to live for the past six years. The property also benefits from NHBC building cover until April 2021.
