US Singer/songwriter Joshua Radin will play his first ever Welsh date when his UK tour comes to Cardiff’s Tramshed on November 20. The tour is in support of his seventh album, The Fall, which also sees his production debut.

Throughout his career, Joshua Radin has sold hundreds of thousands of records and his songs have been featured in many films and TV placements. He has topped the iTunes charts, earned raves everywhere from Rolling Stone to The Guardian and has made appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Tonight Show and Conan. Andy Howells recently put questions to Joshua.

What have you been up to since you last toured the UK?

Well I wrote a new album, "The Fall" and for the first time in my career I produced it myself.

Did you discover anything about the production process that maybe you weren’t aware of before?

Yes. It was so inspiring to be in full control of the sounds produced in the studio. And strangely enough, I recorded the entire album in 5 days. I had thought so much about the tracks before heading into the studio that by the time I started recording, I knew exactly what I wanted out of the band.

What can fans expect from your forthcoming Cardiff show?

I'm really excited to play in Wales. I've never been before. I'll be playing solo, just me and my guitar, so the audience will catch a glimpse into what the songs sound like when I write them. I've heard that everyone in Wales has a beautiful singing voice... So I'm going to find out for myself when I ask the crowd to help me sing on certain songs.

Beyond the UK tour, what have you got planned?

I'm doing some shows in Europe and then I'll head home to LA for the holidays. My new album comes out January 27th so I'll get ready for that and hopefully start writing the next album.
