Little Red Train - Busy day. By Benedict Blathwayt(Random House, £6.99) BENEDICT Blathwayt's ever growing Little Red Train series seems set to rival Rev Awdry's Thomas The Tank Engine series with its ever increasing series of books.
And, like Awdry's Thomas series, I never tire of studying the meticulously designed illustrations in Blathwayt's books, from beautifully observed farm animals, scenic views to discarded tin cans on railway sidings. This series has become just as much a favourite of mine as they have with my children.
Busy Day features another adventure for Little Red Train and Duffy The Driver who have to make a series of interesting deliveries including rails and sleepers for a new track, a flock of sheep for Hilltop farm and of course lots of passengers for Barnacle Bay.
