ROCKABILLY with attitude and a good time thrown in is the offer from The Rhythm Bombers.

Formed in December 2013, the South Wales band is one of the most popular on the circuit, rising from local gigs to reach the UK and beyond.

Writing their own material has enabled the band – Dai “Bop” DeVillle (Vocals/guitar), Tiny Phillips (lead guitar), Colin C Sea Green (bass/backing vocals) and Ritchie Stix Newell (drums) - to forge their own variation of the rockabilly sound, covering both light and darker topics in the lyrics.

And this has now been captured on a newly released 15 track CD “Leave You For Dust”, recently described by the Slap That Bass Rockabilly review site as “modern rockabilly that reminds of the neo rockabilly bands of the 80's with maybe a touch more grrr. Definitely an album that should be checked out”.

“Last year we supported Las Vegas’s Delta Bombers as part of their UK tour. Also, we recently played the Ace Café, London and are due to return there in September” said drummer Stix.

“and in July we’re playing Dubs In The Castle at Caldicot Castle closely followed by the Rock and Roll Shakedown, Dursley . So, as our reputation continues to grow, now is a great time to release our material.”

To accompany the CD, a 7” single consisting of two self-penned tracks “Rock n Roll Nightmare” and “Rockabilly State Of Mind” will be out shortly via the Ambassador record label, where Imelda May cut her teeth before moving on to international fame.

“For a band with our heritage, the return of vinyl is something we want to be a part of so a single release is an obvious step,” said Stix.

“Both the CD and single were mastered by Graham Dominy, who has worked with the likes of Sir Tom Jones, Ronan Keating, Sinead O’Connor and the Eurythmics. We were keen to ensure both are of high quality that properly reflects the strength of the bands music. Rockabilly at its best”.
