A MAJOR new community production - Love, Cardiff: City Road Stories takes place at The Sherman Theatre, Cardiff, from April 13-15.

Love, Cardiff is a co-production bringing together three very different organisations which all have a community focus in common - Sherman Theatre, Cardiff Story Museum and the artist led-group Made in Roath.

The production is the story of Cardiff’s past, present and future told through the personal accounts of communities on and around one of Cardiff’s most important thoroughfares, City Road. Featuring accounts from residents, grocers, and restaurant owners to community gardeners and the proprietor of a sex shop, Love, Cardiff, explores the stories that lie behind the faces of those who live, work and play along the vibrant road.

The project team has been working closely with the City Road communities over a number of months to gather and record a wide-range of stories which reflect the huge breadth of personal experience of the area’s residents and workforce. The personal accounts will be shared by those individuals on the Sherman Stage.

Alongside the community production, there will also be an exhibition during the run of performances. The project will have a legacy in the form of a special archive at Cardiff Story Museum.
