On Wednesday night the Motorpoint Arena played host to Morrissey for the third show of his six date UK tour.

The evening’s proceedings were kicked off in style as he took to the stage and wasted no time launching into ‘The Queen Is Dead’, setting the standard for the rest of the night.

The evening’s set was comprised mostly of tracks from his newest album ‘World Peace Is None Of Your Business’ which was released July 2014 and stands testimony to his incredible talent for poignant song writing.

Along side the new songs, instantly recognisable tracks such as ‘Everyday Is Like Sunday’ and the brilliant ‘I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris’ kept the crowd singing along whole-heartedly. A particular highlight of the evening came in the form of Smith’s track ‘Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One Before’ an undeniable fan favourite.

The evening wouldn’t have been complete without some sort of controversy, this time it was provided by a short animal rights film screened during ’Meat Is Murder’.

Morrissey’s vocals were faultless throughout the entire set and his band matched his energy perfectly. The gig only served as a reminder as to why he has earned such a dedicated army of fans and, after decades, how he’s still capable of packing out arenas.
