WAWWA the Musical Theatre Company brought the classic musical Ghost to the Dolman Theatre.

Based on the 1990 hit film Ghost, the show combined its love story about a murdered banker and his girlfriend with moments of suspense and top-class comedy.

The main characters, Sam and Molly, presented a strong sentimental relationship that the audience followed intently. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as Sam and Molly said their final goodbye.

The arrival of the character Oda Mae Brown had the audience in hysterics and truly lived up to Whoopi Goldberg’s performance in the film.

In addition, the ghosts, particularly the subway ghost and the hospital ghost, effortlessly portrayed the turmoil of being stuck in-between worlds.

Alongside the acting, the singing was fantastic, which increased the values and feelings within the musical.

The technical set up of the show was cleverly designed where it takes real originality to create the effects to produce ghosts and physical disturbances from beyond the grave. The way they presented ghosts emerging in and out of bodies was impressive.

The use of video and projections to conjure up a variety of scenes from the stations to Wall Street offices also created a brilliant stage presence.

WAWWA should be proud of their performance and this is a must-see show that is continuing at the theatre until May 23.
